Character Art Director - Lead Character Artist
Throughout all stages from pre-production to release, I collaborated closely with Art Directors, Project Managers, and Producers to define and communicate the game's visual identity to team members. This involved compiling comprehensive documentation and reference materials for outsourced deliveries, managing budget allocations, and providing comprehensive support to ensure the prompt delivery of high-quality assets. As the director of the character art department, I oversaw both internal teams of over 20 artists and external outsourcing vendors with a workforce exceeding 30 artists, ensuring rigorous adherence to high-quality standards through comprehensive feedback. Spearheading workflow enhancements and tool refinements on a global scale, I drove efficiency and innovation while managing bug triage, providing fixes, and offering feedback for assets from both internal and external sources. I fostered a vibrant and supportive work environment, prioritizing work-life balance for sustainable productivity. Additionally, I personally created over 300 assets, including high-priority celebrity characters, employing various techniques from sculpting based on photographic references to advanced 3D scanning methods. Moreover, I directed a team of six sculptors, conducted meetings with licensors, assisted in art direction and creative concept development for statues, and served as the principal sculptor, crafting award-winning statues that gained global recognition among collectors.
